KANGAROO Flat produced a ruthless performance at home on Saturday, dismantling Kyneton by 40 goals in their Bendigo league A Grade netball clash.
The Roos wasted no time asserting their authority on the contest, racing to an early 21-5 lead on the way to a dominant 68-28 victory.
"We were really disappointed with how we started the game against Gisborne last week (four goal loss), so that was our big focus today and we were able to do that," Kangaroo Flat coach Jayden Cowling said.
"The girls were really switched on after our warm-up and to come out and shoot 21 goals in the first quarter really set us up.
"We had a bit of a lapse in the middle of the game, but finished with another 22 goals in the last quarter... it was a good start and finish, we just need to work on that consistency over four quarters."
Cowling rated the performances of Chelsea Sartori in the centre and Alicia McGlashan in defence as his side's two standouts.
While the Roos weren't able to shift from fourth position on the ladder, the 40-goal margin was also a handy percentage booster.
The Roos now have the competition's best percentage of 153.7 in what could prove crucial in the coming weeks in the tight fight for the double chance.
The defeat was the heaviest the Tigers have copped so far in their return A Grade season and now leaves them a game-and-a-half outside the top five.
* Sandhurst produced its highest score of the season as it comfortably accounted for Maryborough by 29 goals at Princes Park.
The Dragons' goalers were on target in their 74-45 victory - their third win a row.
It has been a tough fortnight for the Magpies' defenders, who have conceded back-to-back scores of 74 against two of the big guns of the competition in the Dragons and Eaglehawk.
* Ladder-leader Gisborne pulled away from Strathfieldsaye after quarter-time, comfortably winning 52-28 at Tannery Lane.
Scores were level 11-apiece at quarter-time, but Gisborne outscored the Storm 41-17 for the remainder of the game to extend its winning streak to five.
* South Bendigo took another step towards a finals return, recording its biggest win of the season by 28 goals.
The Bloods kept Golden Square winless with their 59-31 triumph at the QEO.

HEATHCOTE DISTRICT
Elmore closed back within a game of the top three following its 13-goal win over Mount Pleasant.
The Bloods avenged their earlier loss to the Blues this season with a 58-45 victory at Toolleen in what could prove an elimination final preview if Elmore can't force its way into third.
As well as keeping in touch with the top three, the Bloods were also able to end Mount Pleasant's dominance of them, with the Blues having been 11-0 against Elmore since 2014.
* Huntly gave a competitive showing of itself against ladder-leader Colbinabbin.
But the Grasshoppers were able to keep their unbeaten record intact, coming out on top 50-40.
The 10-goal defeat ended the Hawks' five game winning streak.
* Heathcote celebrated its second win of the season, defeating Leitchville-Gunbower by seven.
After narrowly falling two goals short of the Bombers in round five, this time the Saints were on the right end of the result, winning 37-30.

LODDON VALLEY
The Loddon Valley league's A Grade netball top three now looks set following wins to Bridgewater, Mitiamo and Newbridge on Saturday.
Saturday's results have all but sealed double chances for Bridgewater, Mitiamo and Newbridge with three rounds left in the home and away season.
In one of the most entertaining clashes of the season Mitiamo outlasted Calivil United by three in a match that promised plenty and delivered.
The in-form Superoos extended their winning streak to six - and avenged their round six loss to the Demons - with their hard-fought 64-61 victory.
The Demons' tally of 61 was the season's highest losing score.
* Newbridge gave itself some top-three breathing space with its 68-53 win at home over Maiden Gully YCW in what was the Maroons' third-consecutive victory.
* Marong served it up to flag favourite Bridgewater.
While the Mean Machine took another step towards locking up top spot and remained unbeaten, they were made to work hard by the gallant Panthers in their 57-50 win.
The seven-shot margin was a massive improvement by the Panthers on their previous meeting, which the Mean Machine won by 35.
* The competition's big improvers, Bears Lagoon-Serpentine, added a fifth win, defeating bottom side Pyramid Hill 39-24.
