But that's about to change, as the Eaglehawk Hockey Club president gets set to do the World's Greatest Shave.
Next Friday is the big day, with a function arranged at The Exchange in Bendigo from 6.30pm.
The decision to go clean shaven came as easily to Mr Trimble as growing the fuzz in the first place.
"One of the guys at hockey said, 'Would you do it?'" he said.
It wasn't long afterwards that Mr Trimble started wearing a World's Greatest Shave badge around Bendigo.
The 40-year-old has already raised more than $1000 for the fundraiser, which supports the Leukaemia Foundation.
He's aiming to double that sum.
Mr Trimble is coming to terms with the idea of being without his beard, after five years.
It's become a signature look for him.
"A lot of the blokes are jealous," he said.
Friday's event is a ticketed event, with funds raised benefiting both the Leukaemia Foundation and the hockey club. Adult tickets are $25, and entry for a child between the ages of six and 16 is $10.
Entry for children under the age of five is free. Tickets are available online.
