A key try in the final seconds of the round 11 match against Monash Uni on the weekend secured another win for the Fighting Miners.
A try by Jeremy Lingen in injury time followed with a conversion from Dave McDonald lifted the Miners to a 17-15 victory after an "arm wrestle" match which saw both teams taking turns to score.
The crucial victory over Monash ends the Miners' four-game losing streak and gives them valuable points ahead of the business end of the season.
Miners' Ryan Spedding notched two tries, and Jeremy Lingen with one. Dave McDonald made one conversion.
Spedding was named as man of the match followed by Matt Boyle, McDonald, Lingen, Nafetalai Li and David Gudge.
The Rugby Victoria Championship division is comprised of six teams, with the top-four given spots in the finals series which commences on August 17.
As it stands, the Miners are in fifth position on the ladder, but are just one point behind the Melton Warriors in fourth.

Their biggest tests will come in rounds 12 and 15 when they take on the current top-two teams Maroondah and Shepparton.
