The Storm dominated for the first two-and-a-half quarters and led by as much as 50 points before the Bulldogs put some respectability on the scoreboard. Square had only kicked one goal up until the 11 minute mark of the third term. Lachy Sharp finished with five goals for the Storm and Hugh Robertson was superb. Jake Thrum was clearly Square's most influential player.
Sandhurst 13.18 (96) d South Bendigo 5.7 (37)
The Dragons gave Nick Stagg a memorable 200th game with a 59-point win over South Bendigo at the QEO. Young defender Isaac Ruff was best for the Dragons alongside Matt Thornton and 100-gamer Lachy Ross. Brody Haddow continued his good form for South Bendigo, while ruckman Callum Crisp also played well.
Kyneton 14.11 (95) d Castlemaine 3.10 (28)
Some of the Tigers' big guns Max O'Sullivan, Rhys Magin and Hamish Govan had big days to lead Kyneton to a comfortable win over Castlemaine. The Magpies were competitive early, but didn't take their chances and Kyneton made them pay in a five-goal second term. Jordan Matera, Matt Flo and Jake O'Brien were Castlemaine's best.
Eaglehawk 24.16 (160) d Maryborough 6.8 (44)
Brodie Filo kicked three goals and was in the Eaglehawk's best players in his return to the BFNL. A seven-goal to one first term set the tone for the Hawks. Sam Harper kicked five goals and was best on ground, while Brodie Collins was superb around the stoppages. Coby Perry and Jayden Hooper were best for Maryborough.
Gisborne 20.17 (137) d Kangaroo Flat 6.2 (38)
The Bulldogs had 13 individual goalkickers as they cruised to a 99-point win over the Roos. Matt Goodyear, Jaidyn Owen and Casey Summerfield led the way for Gisborne. Ryley Barrack and Ethan Roberts were Flat's best.
HEATHCOTE DISTRICT LEAGUE - ROUND 13
Elmore 4.9 (33) lt White Hills 8.11 (59)
White Hills grabbed a crucial four points after defeating Elmore on a very heavy track at Elmore. Jed Lamb kicked four of his side's eight goals Kris Bedford was best for White Hills. Rhys Healey and Aaron Cuthbert played well for the Bloods.
North Bendigo 22.12 (144) d Mt Pleasant 5.7 (37)
The Bulldogs kicked 11 goals in a dominant third quarter on their way to a resounding 107-point thrashing of Mt Pleasant. Joel Helman pocketed more votes for North Bendigo, Zac Alford and Aarryn Craig played well and Brady Herdman kicked six goals. Mounts had Ben Weightman kick four of their five goals and Luke Marchesi battled hard.
Heathcote 7.21 (63) d Huntly 3.11 (29)
Heathcote is off the bottom of the ladder after breaking through for a well-deserved first win of the season. Only three goals were kicked between both teams in the first half before the Saints broke the game open with a four-goal third term. Dylan Robinson, Dillon Hardy and Codie Price were best for the Saints. Jaydon Cowling and Bailey Jones were best for Huntly, who now sit on the bottom of the table.
Lockington-Bamawm United 20.7 (127) d Leitchville-Gunbower 7.10 (52)
The Cats flexed their muscle with a strong win over the reigning premiers. Jarod Bacon kicked six goals in a best on ground performance and Jacob Gardiner added four goals as the Cats consolidated second spot. Brady Hore, Matt Pollock and Logan Prout were best for the Bombers.
LODDON VALLEY LEAGUE - ROUND 14
Newbridge 6.8 (44) lt Marong 10.8 (68)
Huge boost to Marong's finals hopes. Adam Ward, Callum Williamson and Corbin Fleming led the charge as the Panthers jumped Newbridge into fifth spot. Jordan Gilboy, Will Daly and Chris McLean were best for a Maroons side that now faces a tough task to make the finals.
Bridgewater 16.12 (108) d BL-Serpentine 14.10 (94)
The Mean Machine's season is alive after a stunning final term fightback. Kicking with the wind, Bridgewater kicked six goals to one to turn a 19-point deficit into a 14-point win. Liam Jacques, James Naughton and Pete Coghlan were superb for Bridgewater. Harry Gadsden kicked six goals to be the Bears' best.
Maiden Gully YCW 7.10 (52) d Calivil United 6.12 (48)
For the sixth time this season the Eagles were involved in a game decided by a goal or less. For the fourth time out of those six matches they won. The loss puts an end to the Demons' slim hopes of playing finals. Darby Graham and Nick Waterson were best for MGYCW, while Levi Moss and Jordan Lea stood out for the Demons.
Pyramid Hill 32.11 (203) d Inglewood 3.6 (24)
Briady Dickens kicked 11 goals as the Bulldogs destroyed bottom side Inglewood. The Bulldogs kicked 11.2 to no score in the final quarter. Matt Klein-Breteler and Scott Mann were other good players for the Bulldogs. Sam Barnes and Jaxon Billett tried hard for the disappointing Blues.
NORTH CENTRAL LEAGUE - ROUND 11, WEEK 2
Birchip-Watchem 12.8 (80) d Wedderburn 6.4 (40)
A six-goal to one second term set up the Bulls' 40-point win over a gallant Wedderburn. Nathan Gordon and Stefan Pye stood out for Birchip, while Jaran McKay and Danny Benaim played well for the Redbacks.
Wycheproof-Narraport 7.11 (53) lt St Arnaud 14.11 (95)
Tom Eltringham kicked six goals and Brad Organ was best on ground in the Saints' seven-goal win. Rolly White and George Turner battled hard for Wycheproof-Narraport.
