South Africa's Brandon Stone is the defending champion after finishing at 20-under par last year at Gullane.
Herbert will head into the tournament in fine form following a five-under par 65 during the final round of the Irish Open last week, finishing the tournament T55.
As a result he moved up one place to 112th in the European Tour's Race to Dubai rankings.
