BARREL TASTING WEEKEND
Bendigo wineries will open their doors this weekend to give wine lovers a chance to learn the secrets of how their vintages are created.
During the two-day festival Balgownie Estate, BlackJack Wines, Connor Park Winery, Killiecrankie Wines, Mandurang Valley Winery, Sandhurst Ridge Winery and Sutton Grange Winery will provide a chance to taste samples maturing in barrels.
Bookings are essential for the tastings being held at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.

BLUES AND ROOTS FESTIVAL WINTER SHOWCASE
Seventeen acts will take part in this year's Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival's winter showcase.
The Hotel Shamrock will host the event on Sunday, July 7 from noon to 8pm with acts filling two stages in Yard Bird Bar and the Federation Room.

LION KING HELPS THE ORANGUTANS
Join us for the opening night of The Lion King - the Disney classic beautifully re-imagined and help us to help give Orangutans in Sumatra and Borneo the best chance of survival against the threat of extinction.
Support our work including critical habitat protection, orangutan care centres and rehabilitation and release programs.

GET OUT INTO NATURE
Children can get outside this school holidays with activities designed to inspire curiosity in Victoria's national parks.
The Junior Rangers program will run free activities to give children a chance to learn and explore in the natural world.
Maldon Historic Area, Solomon Gully Nature Conservation Reserve, White Hills Sediments Geological Reserve and the Greater Bendigo National Park will all host activities.
Enjoy family time with your children at a local library, singing songs, playing games and learning new skills.
The events include storytime where children can read stories together; rhyme time in which basic, fun rhymes will be learned and toddler time, perfect for toddlers to express themselves.

SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE
The Spring Gully Hall Committee will host a fun evening dance this weekend.
Come along to the Spring Gully Hall and enjoy great music by Family Rhythm Dance Band with a good program.
The evening will have a footy theme.

Perspective: A view of the Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum collection is an exhibition of watercolours by Susan McMinn.
Susan McMinn is a local artist and recent guest artist for The Shrine of Remembrance.
The works in the exhibition intend to demonstrate different views of war, reflected in the items.
Selected items have been grouped together to design contrast of a lurid narrative surrounding the soldier with the want of home.

TUDORS TO WINDSORS
More than 150 British portraits of royalty are on display at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
The major exhibition - Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits - features works on loan from London's National Portrait Gallery with some never having been seen outside of the United Kingdom.
Tudors to Windsors highlights major events in British and world history from the 16th century to present day.
The portraits will allow the gallery visitors to study the royal family faces of the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Georgians, the Victorians and the Windsors.
