Andrew Sait breaks through for cross-country win

A runner-up and third placegetter in his previous two starts, Sait broke his personal best time as he charged to victory in the 6.5km event at Woodvale Recreation Reserve.

Sait passed Nick Edwards in the last kilometre and was five seconds clear of his nearest rival at the finish line.

The consistent Aaron Norton was third.

Justine Graham overcame a foot injury to run 18:46 and win a closely-fought 3km battle with Kylie Stevenson as Sally Noden was third.

Honours in the children's 1km race went to Caleb Marron from Jack Gaskin, who is surging closer to a victory each week.

Third across the line was Dylan Marron, a third placegetter in three of his past four starts and on track to win this season's most consistent award.

Bendigo Athletics Club's takes a break from club racing this weekend.
