When the Strathfieldsaye midfielder ran on to the ground for Saturday's game against Sandhurst sporting a yellow headband made out of a sock, his team-mates weren't surprised.
His Sandhurst opponents and the Dragons' fans were less endeared to Formosa's footy fashion statement.
"We were wearing the yellow socks, so I thought I'd take it one step further and add a bit more colour to the day,'' Formosa said.
"I'm not sure the Sandhurst players liked it too much. They were giving me heaps about the headband all day and the crowd were into it as well."
Strathfieldsaye wore yellow jumpers and socks as part of the club's annual Give Me 5 for Kids day.
The yellow headband and the attention it attracted did little to hinder Formosa's form.
He was best on ground as the Storm defeated Sandhurst in atrocious conditions.
"It was my kind of game,'' Formosa said.
"It's the worst conditions I've ever played in, but I loved it.
"The centre circle disappeared because of the rain and mud and it felt like there was 300 stoppages for the day."
Three votes and a victory while wearing the yellow headband. Maybe it's a good omen for Formosa.
"I kept the other yellow sock, so the yellow headband might make another appearance later in the year,'' Formosa said with a chuckle.
Formosa and the top-of-the-table Storm will enjoy a week off for the general bye before facing Golden Square at Wade Street on July 13.
