Police say the 22-year-old man who died in Bendigo on Sunday morning was from Junortoun.
9.30am:
A 22-year-old man has died in a crash on McCrae Street early on Sunday morning.
Police say a blue Mercedes was travelling north along McCrae Street when it veered to the left and struck a tree.
The male driver died at the scene.

The passenger, a 20-year-old male was taken to Bendigo Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Police have asked any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV footage, to contact Senior Constable Dale Andrews at the Bendigo Highway Patrol.
Earlier:
A man has died after a car crashed into a tree in Bendigo on Sunday morning.
Police understand the car was travelling along McCrae Street when it left the road and struck a tree just north of Baxter Street around 6am.
The driver died at the scene.
A passenger received minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
McCrae Street and Baxter Street are closed, and diversions are in place, while police examine the scene of the crash.
