The Roos kicked the only three goals of the first term and the locals sensed the 18-year drought against the Bulldogs could be broken. However, the Roos didn't kick another goal for the day as Square gradually wore them down in tough conditions at Dower Park. Ruckman Matt Compston and veteran Brad Eaton were best for Square. Matt Clifford and Nathan McHugh played well for the Roos.
Castlemaine 3.6 (24) lt Maryborough 11.15 (81)
Lachy Butler and Jayden Hooper led the charge as Maryborough cruised to its fifth win of the season. Stewart Crameri kicked three goals for Maryborough. Castlemaine's best were Riley Pedretti and Angus Monfries.
Kyneton 0.1 (1) lt Gisborne 9.15 (69)
For the second week in a row Gisborne held its opponent to just one behind. Kyneton's only score came in the first term. Patty McKenna bagged five goals for the Bulldogs and young gun Brad Bernacki thrived in the wet conditions. Jayden Tatti and Tom Kirk battled hard for the Tigers.
Eaglehawk 15.15 (105) d South Bendigo 6.5 (41)
The Hawks had 10 individual goalkickers as they cruised to a 64-point win over the Bloods. Cam McGlashan and Riley Saunders continued their great form to be Eaglehawk's best. Bloods' coach Nathan Horbury and Brody Haddow were best for the home side.
Strathfieldsaye 5.13 (43) d Sandhurst 3.3 (21)
In some of the worst conditions seen at Tannery Lane, the Storm kicked 2.4 in the final term to boot clear of a gallant Sandhurst. Midfielder Josh Formosa was beston ground, while the Storm's best also included Vinnie Flood who was playing his first senior game since the 2014 grand final. Jake Pallpratt and Blair Holmes stood out for Sandhurst.
HEATHCOTE DISTRICT LEAGUE - ROUND 11
Elmore 7.14 (56) d Huntly 4.13 (37)
Brodie Hawke kicked three goals in a best on ground performance to lead the Bloods to a hard-fought 19-point win. Huntly coach Stacy Fiske and Lachlan Mangan were best for the Hawks.
North Bendigo 12.11 (83) d Leitchville-Gunbower 3.7 (25)
A six-goal to none second term was the catalyst of the the Bulldogs' big win over arch-rival Leitchville-Gunbower. The Bombers didn't kick a goal after quarter-time. Heavy rain set in during the second quarter and North kicked the only two goals of the second half.
LBU 11.3 (69) d Colbinabbin 8.8 (56)
A blistering seven-goal first term set up an important win for the Cats. Colbo outscored the home side 7.7 to 4.3 in the final three quarters, but the damage had been done. Jacob Gardiner and Jarod Bacon were the standouts for Colbo, while Damien Carmody and Todd Bryant were best for the Hoppers.
Mt Pleasant 5.9 (39) lt White Hills 11.11 (77)
Best win of the year for the Demons. The 38-point win in heavy conditions keeps them in the finals race and all but ends Mounts' hopes of finishing top three. After a tight first term, Mounts only kicked two goals after quarter-time. Jed Lamb kicked four for the Demons and David Wright was best. Nick Edwards was best for Mounts.
LODDON VALLEY LEAGUE - ROUND 12
Marong 3.17 (35) lt Maiden Gully YCW 8.10 (58)
Five goals to one after half-time was the difference in the match as the Eagles grabbed a crucial four points. Josh Worsley and Matt Waterson best for MGYCW, while Corbin Fleming and Ben Millar played well for the Panthers. MGYCW consolidate fourth spot, the Panthers slip a game outside the top five.
Mitiamo 9.14 (68) d Newbridge 0.4 (4)
The players left the field in the second quarter for about 25 minutes because of lightning. Upon return the Superoos relished the wet conditions and held the undermanned Maroons goalless. Jamie Twyford kicked three goals for Miti, while Luke Lougoon was best on ground. Will Daly and Robbie Wells stood out for Newbridge.
Bridgewater 11.18 (84) d Inglewood 6.6 (42)
The Blues led the Mean Machine by two points at half-time and up set looked on the cards. However, the Mean Machine stepped up in the third term with 3.6 to no score to break the game open. Matt Bourke and Archie Conway were superb for Bridgewater. Liam Drummond was best for the Blues.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine 10.15 (75) d Calivil United 3.8 (26)
The Bears consolidated third spot with an impressive 49-point win over Calivil. Harry Gadsden and Andrew Gladman kicked seven goals between them for the Bears, while Kalem Paxton was best on ground. Sam Demeo and Jake Lawry were best for Calivil.

NAB LEAGUE BOYS - ROUND 13
Bendigo Pioneers 4.6 (30) lt Murray Bushrangers 3.22 (40)
The Bushrangers didn't kick a goal in the first half, but still managed to defeat the Pioneers on a heavy deck at Echuca. The Bushrangers put the Pioneers' defence under pressure all day and had 25 scoring shots to 10. James Schischka and Cobi Maxted were best for the Pioneers.
