The Drowsy Chaperone features an entirely Bendigo-based cast and crew and has been made possible through the performers' passions.
Director Maree Kennedy said the collaborative effort was designed to showcase the participants' talents while having fun along the way.
"A bunch of us got together and decided to put on a show that would allow us to use our talents and have a lot of fun along the way," she said.
"The biggest support is from all the individuals, families and groups that are involved to fill all the roles required to put on a show.
"Other very important support has come from the Bendigo Theatre Company which agreed to auspice the project and from the Ulumbarra Foundation who provided a grant to the project."
The Drowsy Chaperone is on at the Arts Shed in Allingham Street, Golden Square on July 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 7.30pm and July 7 at 2pm.
