After falling at the final hurdle three of the past four years, CMC finally has its hands on the SSV football trophy.
CMC capped a brilliant campaign by thrashing Essendon-Keilor Collge by 75 points in Wednesday's grand final at Trevor Barker Oval.
"It's a great feeling,'' CMC coach Lee Coghlan said.
"It's great for, not only these boys, but everyone involved in the school footy program.
"We've put in some solid performances for years, but we haven't had the reward for effort.
"This year's team is pretty complete, we bat pretty deep. I'm very proud of them."
Kicking into the breeze in the first term, CMC held Essendon-Keilor goalless and managed to kick 1.5.
CMC then virtually put the game to bed with a four-goal burst to open the second quarter.
By half-time the margin was six goals, with Essendon-Keilor still goalless.
The CMC defence held firm against the breeze in the third quarter and CMC maintained a 44-13 lead at the last change.
It was party time in the final quarter as CMC added 8.2 to 1.0 to win 14.10 (94) to 2.7 (19).
"The boys were over the moon (after the final siren),'' Coghlan said.
"They're pretty happy with themselves right now, but they have every right to be.
"They played a really hard, physical, skillful game of footy. It was a four-quarter performance and they've come away with a big win.
"They deserve to celebrate after all the work they've put in."
Midfielder Sam Conforti was named best on ground ahead of fellow midfielders Ben Worme and Harry Burke, ruckman Aaron Gundry, defender Isaac Carracher and on-baller Will Wallace.
Mitch Rovers and Aaron Gundry kicked three goals each, Sam Conforti and Kyle Jones added to goals each, while skipper Zac Shelton, Zac Featherby, Lachlan Baker and Noah Walsh kicked one goal.
The victory qualifies CMC for next month's Herald-Sun Shield semi-finals.
"We'll enjoy this one first and then we'll look forward to the Herald-Sun Shield,'' Coghlan said.
"It's exciting to be in the conversation with those schools."
