The Roos led by 14 points at half time with the scores at 4.4 (28) to 2.2 (14).
The visitors continued to shine by booting another two goals in the second half to the Storm's one, to see out the game 6.6 (42) over 3.3 (21).
Roos' Kate Hare led best on followed by Sarah Moerke, Shelby Knoll, Molly Metcalf, Ellie Bailey and Lily Campbell.
Knoll led the teams goalkicking with two.
Storm's Grace Edlin led best on followed by Crystal West, Angela Gamble, Liza Edwards, Rhylan O'Toole and Shanae Sawyer.
Britney Mueck led the team's goalkicking with two and is the top scorer in the league on 25 for the season.
The match was described as a turning point for the Central Victoria Football League Women's as representatives from the Roos and Storm were impressed with the quality performances from both teams.
"All of the girls put in an awesome effort," Kangaroo Flat team manager Rosemary Metcalf said.
"It was a good game between the sides as both teams took the whole level of play up a notch.
"The league is becoming very exciting to watch."
Storm coach Graham Gamble said the match was a great spectacle and either side was capable of winning.
"You can see the game within the competition is developing and especially from when the two teams met earlier in the season," Gamble said.
"I'm happy with how our girls played the game to the very last minute. It was a well contested game."
The Storm also used the match as an opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer, with all players wearing pink jerseys and socks.
In other games, Eaglehawk (0-9) suffered a 99-point loss to top team Golden Square (9-0), final scores 1.0 (6) to 16.9 (105).
Kyneton (3-6) locked down their home turf at the Showgrounds with a 25-point win over North Bendigo (3-6), final scores 7.3 (45) to 3.2 (20).
