NAIDOC CELEBRATIONS
Bendigo's NAIDOC Week celebrations have started with renewed calls for a treaty with this year's theme of "Voice, Treaty, Truth".
The celebrations continue this week with various events in and around the Bendigo region.
YOUTH DANCE PARTY
The Blue Light and Bendigo and District Aborigional Co-operative Youth Dance Party is an under-15s event that features a performance by Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, lots of entertainment, dancing competitions, giveaways, prizes and more.

ART EXHIBITION
Celebrate Indigenous heritage with the free Knuldoorong NAIDOC Art Exhibition, showcasing local Aborigional and Torres Strait Islander artists.
This event invites the community to view various works such as paintings, weavings, jewellery, prints, photography and sculptures.
Artwork is also for sale and some artists can be contacted for commission work.

ART FAIR
Prior to the development of the former All Saints Church, the building is being used by a group of artists, supporting local exhibitions and activities.

ART COMPETITION
This competition will display artwork from selected grades at local schools.
Children will be asked to colour animal posters which will be displayed on the front windows.
The community is invited to come in and vote on which picture they like best with prizes for each school in first, second or third place.

TUDORS TO WINDSORS
More than 150 British portraits of royalty are on display at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
The major exhibition - Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits - features works on loan from London's National Portrait Gallery with some never having been seen outside of the United Kingdom.
Tudors to Windsors highlights major events in British and world history from the 16th century to present day.
The portraits will allow the gallery visitors to study the royal family faces of the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Georgians, the Victorians and the Windsors.
Cost: Adult $25, Concession $22, Bendigo Art Gallery Member $20, PGAV Member $20.

COMMUNITY
SHEEP AND WOOL SHOW
For three days, Bendigo will become the place for all woollen fashion, foods and fibres.
The 142nd Australian Sheep and Wool Show showcases Australia's wool growers and lamb producers, attracting thousands of people every year.
The show will also once again feature the Women of Wool, which encourages women to learn more about wool and celebrate women in the wool industry.
There will be many woollen designs at the parades, wearable art and Woolcraft competitors.
The event also includes high teas, more than 250 stallholders, cooking classes, sheep breeders, shearers, competitions, sheepdogs and their trainers and much more.
Where: Prince of Wales Showgrounds, Holmes Road, Bendigo.
When: Friday - Sunday, July 19 - 21, 9am-5pm.
FLORAL ART AND CRAFT CLUB
The Maldon Garden, Floral Art and Craft Club will be presenting a special guest speaker event.
Heidi Martin (Van Loon's Nursery, Wallington) will be speaking on "Gardening in a Hot and Dry Climate". Heidi has also spoken on 3AW's weekend gardening programme.
The talk will also include a delicious country afternoon tea.

FAMILY FUN DAY
Enjoy the last day of the school holidays with the family at this free community event.
After last year's success, this event is back and is bigger and better.
The fun day will be full of activities including, face painting, an animal farm, playzone, library activities, painting, balloons, The Zone jumping castle and Gauntlet, handball activities and a mini fitness circuit.
There will also be various services available to chat to, such as the Kangaroo Flat CFA, SES, Kangaroo Flat Dental and much more.
Sausages, veggie burgers, chicken sticks and bottled water is available for purchase.

AFTERNOON DANCE
The Spring Gully Hall Committee is hosting an entertaining afternoon dance this weekend.
The event will feature great music by Ian Stewart, along with a good program and delicious home-cooked supper.
There will also be a raffle and prizes.
