Both Bendigo and Echuca could see temperatures as low as one degree, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Bendigo had its coldest winter temperature of 2019 overnight on Tuesday, when the mercury dropped to 0.9 degrees.
It was not as cold as the 0.4 degrees recorded on Thursday 30 May.
Castlemaine and Maryborough are not within Thursday morning's warning area but could also see frost, according to bureau forecasts. The towns can expect temperatures of one degree.
Parts of the Mallee, north east and north-west of the state could see temperatures down to minus three degrees.
So too could areas of Gippsland.
Frosts are expected to continue for most of the week in Bendigo, except on Friday when the bureau is predicting partial cloud cover.
