CATHERINE McAuley College cruised into another School Sport Victoria premier league football final after blitzing Mornington Secondary College by 133 points at the QEO on Wednesday.
The semi-final was all one-way traffic, with CMC already 37 points up at quarter-time on the way to its impressive 24.13 (157) to 3.6 (24) blowout win.
CMC will meet Essendon-Keilor College in next Wednesday's grand final.
CMC has lost three of the past four SSV premier league football grand finals by less than a kick, but will head into next week's decider full of confidence after its demolition of Mornington.
"The boys played some really impressive footy today," CMC coach Lee Coghlan said.
"We came out in the first quarter and kicked six goals and were able to end the game fairly early."
Noah Walsh was a livewire inside forward 50 for CMC. He kicked four goals in the first term on the way to a match-high haul of five.
"Noah was fantastic for us... he had a great day in front of the sticks and hardly missed," Coghlan said.
"It was very impressive to see from a Year 11 crumbing forward. He certainly made the most of his opportunities."
Walsh was one of 12 goalkickers for CMC, which extended its advantage at each break from 37 points at quarter-time to 79 at half-time and 123 at three quarter-time before the final margin of 133.
The goalkickers also featured William Wallace (four), Aaron Gundry (three), Mitch Rovers (two), Connor Sexton (two) and Caleb Connick (two) slotting multiples.
CMC's best players were led by Vic Country under-18 representative Ben Worme.
"Ben played a mix of half-back and midfield and he was fantastic," Coghlan said.
"His attack on the footy and his ball-use was terrific."
Mornington's cause wasn't helped by making the trip to Bendigo with just 19 players, while it was further hampered by an injury and a yellow card during the game.
"We were at full strength with five on the bench, so Mornignton was up against it today," Coghlan said.
