The man, 44, arrived in Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon after being extradited from Shepparton.
He's accused of manslaughter, interfering with a corpse and stealing.
He is accused of killing Shae Francis, 35, who was last seen at the Hervey Bay hospital last October but only reported missing in March.
The man will spend the night in the watchhouse before facing Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
