The club took advantage of the pool's movable boom to run its traditional three-meet Winter Series in the 25m short course format.
127 swimmers from 17 clubs across regional and metropolitan Victoria came to Bendigo to secure qualifying times for the upcoming Victorian Country, State and National Short Course Championships.
"For the first competition at a new venue the meet went exceptionally well,'' Hawks president Greg Smith said.
"I received plenty of good, positive feedback from many of our patrons with everyone I spoke to giving the venue and the meet a big tick of approval.
"I think that can largely be attributed to the wonderful organisational skills of my committee, the 'let's make it a huge success' approach of all the Hawks families and our local team of Swimming Victoria officials and the extraordinary co-operation of the team at Gurri Wanyarra."
In the pool, the squads from Doncaster-Templestowe and Bendigo East put in the best performances.
The swimmers representing Gisborne Thunder, Bendigo Hawks and Kangaroo Flat put in solid performances throughout the meet.
The second and third rounds of the series will be held at Gurri Wanyarra on July 14 and August 4 respectively.
