IVY Heath's birthday celebrations started at the weekend, with a trip to the bakery with family.
Her friends at Bupa Aged Care Bendigo have more cake planned for today, Mrs Heath's 102nd birthday.
"We love her dearly," her daughter-in-law, Margaret Leslie, said.
"She's extremely proud of her boys."
Mrs Heath has two sons: Robert Leslie, 77, and Allan Leslie, 73.
She, herself, was one of six children.
Mrs Heath's two brothers died at the ages of 69 and 74, respectively. One of her three sisters died at the age of 96. Her other two sisters are aged 96 and 90.
Bendigo has only been Mrs Heath's home for about 18 months. She was born in North Brighton and raised in the Hampton area.
Mrs Heath came to Bendigo from a retirement house at Mt Martha to be closer to Robert and Margaret, who live at Heathcote.
Mrs Leslie said her mother-in-law enjoyed a cup of tea.
"You just have a cup of tea and get on with it," is understood to be one of Mrs Heath's mottos.
