A 25-year-old man has had his car impounded and is facing numerous charges after he overtook an unmarked police car at speed at Harcourt.

The probationary driver from Mount Waverley was clocked at 164 km/h on the Calder Freeway about 6pm Saturday.
The man overtook overtook an unmarked police vehicle and was seen weaving in and out of traffic in his Toyota Corolla before he was intercepted.
His car was impounded with towing costs of $1195.
It is expected he will also be charged on summons with driving at a dangerous speed and numerous other traffic offences.
The man was caught during the statewide long weekend Operation Regal, which is focused on impaired driving, increased traffic on rural roads, those towing trailers and caravans, and trail bike riding in state forests and parks.
Operation Regal began on Friday and will finish at 11.59pm Monday.
