However, the club's greatest achievement so far in 2019 has been off the ground.
Gisborne FNC has sold more than 2000 FightMND beanies and have raised more than $42,000.
Saturday's home game against BFNL rival Sandhurst at Gardiner Reserve is the culmination of the club's campaign, with footballers and netballers to wear FightMND socks and the Bulldogs' parochical fans will be sporting the beanies.
"As a club we wanted to do something to help bring the club and the Gisborne community together,'' Dale Pemberton, who came up with the idea with the help of the club's coterie group the Golden Bulldogs, said.
"Our original aim was to sell 500 beanies and then it grew to 1000 and we didn't dream that we could get to 2000.
"The footballers and netballers at the club have been fantastic. The playing group sold 1200 beanies in one week.
"FightMND is such a wonderful cause and we're proud of what we've done to help."
FightMND was established in 2014 by AFL great Neale Daniher with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
The debilitating disease gradually takes away the patient's use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat and swallow, their speech and ultimately their ability to breathe all in an average timeframe of just 27 months.
