The Blues became the first Bendigo-based club to defeat Shepparton United in Shepparton since the four Shepparton-based clubs joined the league two-and-half years ago.
The emphatic win was Strathdale's sixth victory from as many matches this season and the Blues sit on top of the division one ladder heading into this weekend's general bye.
Midfielder Sam Farr and striker Daniel Purdy scored a brace each for Strathdale, while Ermal Marku scored twice for the home side in a 10-minute burst midway through the second half.

Two goals from Joel Aitken and singles to Shaun Kane and Kabir Larry Casey Kareem were enough for the visitors to get the three points.
La Trobe University scored its second win of the season when it defeated Shepparton 2-1.
Big striker Ibukun Oloruntoba opened the scoring in the ninth minute, before Harry Bennewith doubled La Trobe's lead early in the second half.
Yannik Klein scored for Shepparton with 10 minutes to go to set up a nail-biting finish, but La Trobe held on.
In the women's championship, Shepparton United stamped its authority on the competition by thrashing Strathdale 5-0.
United has eight wins from eight games to be six points clear on top.
Colts United moved into second place on goal difference after thrashing Swan Hill 8-0.
Rebecca Berry and Bethany McDonald scored two goals each, while Lauren Anderson, Louise McColl and Piper Trezise also found the back of the net. There was one own goal.
Moama-Echuca outplayed Epsom 5-1, with Thany Williams scoring a hat-trick.
Courtney Ladgrove and Kayla Arkinstall were the other goal scorers for the Raiders.
Epsom's lone goal came from Jess Keating.
Spring Gully defeated Tatura 2-0, with Natalie Bernard scoring.
Olivia Kennedy scored twice and Zoe Zabilowicz and Natasha Romas added the third and fourth goals in La Trobe University's 4-0 win over bottom side Shepparton.
In the final game of the round, Shepparton South thrashed Golden City 10-1.
