Gisborne overcame first quarter troubles to secure a dominating 112-point win over visitors Maryborough on Saturday.

The Magpies' 13-point lead at quarter time was short lived with the Bulldogs snapping into action to take back control of the match with a 32-point buffer at half time.
"Maryborough had a really good first quarter and were winning all factors of the game," Gisborne coach Clinton Young said.
"Our turn around came in the second quarter when we started to have better control of the ball and got back on top.
"I'm really pleased with how we turned it around - we needed to respond and we did."
The Bulldogs kicked a dominating 15 goals in the second half to the Magpies three, securing a strong 24.16 (160) to 7.6 (48) win come the final siren.

As the league starts to approach the halfway point of the season, Young is more than confident in his team.
"As a club we've been improving over the last couple of years, we're now in a position to be regarded as one of the better teams in the competition," Young said.
The Bulldogs' Pat McKenna booted six goals with Jake Conolan, Jack Scanlon, Jaidyn Owen each with three, James Ferry was named as best alongside McKenna, Nick Doolan, Matt Goodyear, Scott Walsh and Casey Summerfield.
The Magpies' Jayden Hooper led with two goals, and was also named as best alongside Matt Bilton, Daniel Vadala, Ash Humphrey, Lachlan Crameri and Jacob Long.
The Bulldogs 5-1 remain second on the ladder behind top squad Strathfieldsaye, with Maryborough 1-5 in eighth.
