The dancers are involved in Hiphopportunities For Youth, a Bendigo not-for-profit that helps disadvantaged and disengaged young people through art, music and dance.
At Tuesday's workshop the dancers learnt some contemporary dance techniques and moves, talk to the professionals about their career path, and even picked up a routine from the company's upcoming show at Ulumbarra.
Tiger Jorgensen, a Hiphopportunities mentor, said it was a fun and exciting experience for the dancers, who ranged in age from 13 to 16.
"Not everyone gets these opportunities, so they were definitely excited to work with a professional dance company, and such a well-regarded dance company," she said.
The dancers have also been offered the opportunity to see the Sydney Dance Company perform at Ulumbarra Theatre on Wednesday night.
