National Reconciliation Week takes place from May 27 with Mount Alexander Shire hosting a Sorry Day commemoration on May 26.
Mount Alexander Shire will also present a number of events including a Reconciliation Film Festival, Reconciliation Exhibition and an Indigenous History Walk.
"There are plenty of opportunities to learn something new or gain a different perspective at the reconciliation events planned through the week," Mount Alexander Shire mayor Bronwen Machin said.
Campaspe Shire Council and Njernda Aboriginal Corporation will present a range of events under the theme "grounded in truth".
"The week provides an opportunity for Torres Strait Islanders, Aboriginals and the broader community to strengthen their relationships by continuing the conversation on historical truth telling and acceptance," Campaspe Shire mayor Adrian Weston said.
