In addition to a gold medal at the FIBA Oceania Championships and being added to Bendigo Braves' NBL1 roster, Daniels has been selected to attend the 2019 NBA Global Camp.
"I never expected to one day get a call up from the NBA," Daniels said.
"Especially at such a young age, it's a dream come true and beyond my expectations."
He will travel to Monaco later this month to attend a pre-Draft camp with other top prospects from outside the U.S in hopes of one day walking onto a basketball court in the world's top league.
The camp will host players from South America, Europe and Africa, who will be under the watchful eye of NBA talent scouts.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge, hopefully I can perform well over in Europe so I can catch the eye of a few of the scouts," he said.
"Over the past few years I know that there have been scouts at the international tournaments keeping an eye on me, so I think that's where they picked me."
Attendees at the camp will participate in five-on-five games, shooting drills and strength testing under the close eye of representatives from NBA teams.
Daniels will draw on the experience of playing with the Braves in the NBL1 to help him perform well at the camp.
"Being in the Braves team playing against bigger bodies has helped me improve my game," Daniels said.
"Being able to play with Ray Turner and Deonte Burton, who has played in the NBA G League - they have taught me what I need to work on and have been pushing me, they've helped a lot.
"Access to top coaches in Bendigo, putting in the extra hours and hardwork at the stadium has helped."
