Colts United and Eaglehawk have stamped themselves as the biggest threats to BASL women's champions Shepparton United.
Colts was most impressive in defeating Strathdale 4-1, while Eaglehawk thumped Golden City 14-0 to move alongside Colts with 12 points - three behind the undefeated Shepparton United.
Shepparton United belted Epsom 14-0 to record its fifth win from as many matches this season.
Colts' win was the highlight of the round.
A Rebecca Berry goal in the second minute of the game set the tone for the day and Colts doubled their lead eight minutes later through Holly Hays.
Strathdale closed down Colts for the remainder of the half, but the home side put the game away early in the second half when Bethany McDonald scored twice in seven minutes.
Strathdale's Maddy McGrory scored a consolation goal in the 78th minute.
Chloe Parker bagged six goals, including four in 12 minutes, in Eaglehawk's 14-0 win over Golden City.
The Borough scored nine times in the first half and five in the second half, with Grace Edlin and Ailish Archbold found the back of the net twice each.
Shepparton United had nine individual scorers in its 14-0 win over Epsom.
Star striker Sophie Papalia scored a hat-trick to take her season tally to 13.
New club La Trobe University moved into fourth spot on the ladder after defeating Tatura 5-0. Olivia Kennedy and Michelle Henry scored two goals each and Olive Ashmore added the fifth.
Two late goals lifted Moama-Echuca Border Raiders to victory over Spring Gully United. The Raiders trailed 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining before Isabella Gow and Paula Ledda scored in the space of minutes to clinch the three points.
Naomi Dawson found the back of the net for Spring Gully late in the first half.
In the final game of the round, Britney Scrivens scored five goals in Shepparton South's 7-0 win over Swan Hill.
