Injuries to key players have not made the selection quandary for BFNL inter-league coach Darryl Wilson any easier.

Strathfieldsaye's Harry Conway (broken toe) and Kyneton's Max O'Sullivan (abductor) won't be considered for the final squad after suffering injuries at the weekend, while Sandhurst star Andy Collins (calf) is in doubt.

South Bendigo's Kaiden Antonowicz left the ground in Saturday's loss to Gisborne because of a head knock, but is expected to be available for selection.

Wilson and his selection panel - Rick Ladson, Stephen Milne, Simon Rosa and Damian Slater - will choose the final squad of 28 on Monday ahead of Saturday's clash at the QEO with Outer East.

"There's going to be some very good players who miss out,'' Wilson said.

"We're in a position where we have a very strong squad to choose from.

"The buy-in from the players has been fantastic. We've got 50-odd players who want to represent the league."

Golden Square's Jack Geary will captain the BFNL against the new league.

The Outer East FNL is the combination of the former Yarra Ranges and South East leagues.

It is a three-tier competition involving 26 clubs, with its Premier Division consisting of Cranbourne, Woori Yallock, Olinda Ferny Creek, Wandin, Upwey Tecoma, Healesville, Narre Warren and Berwick.

Outer East is ranked ninth in the AFL Victoria Community Championships rankings, with the BFNL 10th.
