Whether it was long jump, high jump, discus or shot put, students put in their best. Activities leader at the Coolock campus Stephen Evans said several achieved terrific personal results, while also competing for their house.
Backhaus, Champagnat, Jaara, MacKillop, McAuley and Vincent houses vied in a range of athletic events.
The house event doubled as a team selection trial for the school.
Coolock Campus activities leader Stephen Evans said the carnival had been a great day.
More than 600 students participated on the day, from both campuses and across all year levels.
"We had beautiful weather. Lots of participation on the day from all the students," Mr Evans said.
"Staff were terrific in terms of their role on the day. It just had a good carnival atmosphere, I think it was just a good day had by all.
"It was a great event for the school."
The final results of the athletics carnival will be announced on Wednesday.

- Year 7 Boys: Olliver Hannaford (Mackillop)
- Year 8 Girls: Caitlin Evans (Jaara)
- Year 8 Boys: Harry Roberts (Vincent)
- Year 9 Girls: Lara Bish (Jaara)
- Year 9 Boys: Liam Gay (Backhaus)
Records broken on the day:
- Year 7 Boys: Logan Barker (Jaara) - 100m 12.67 & Long Jump 4.95m
