The "We wear your words" campaign reminds passengers of the impact anti-social or aggressive behaviour can have on V/Line staff.
Almost 1100 instances of members of the public using threatening or abusive behaviour toward V/Line staff - including conductors and authorised officers - has been reported since 2016.
Almost 90 per cent of the reports were verbal abuse.
The campaign highlights that while the behaviour may not have a visible impact on V/Line staff, the effects can be negative and lasting.
Minister for Public Transport Melissa Horne said most regional train passengers were respectful of V/Line staff.
"There is always more work to be done to ensure our staff feel valued, appreciated, protected and safe while at work," she said.
"It is never okay to attack someone who is doing their job and we are going to continue pushing the message that abusing anyone on public transport is completely unacceptable.
"This campaign is reminding passengers that their behaviour and words can have a lasting impact, so please respect our staff as you travel across the state."
The campaign will be seen across all V/Line stations and trains as well as one V/Line social media channels.
Public Transport Victoria first rolled out the campaign on the state's bus network before it was used across the entire public transport network.
V/Line staff are provided training, tools and support to deal with confrontational situations in a calm, controlled manner.
All abusive behaviour towards staff is recorded and reported to Victoria Police when required.
