The Dragons came away with an easy win over Maryborough 60-32, with Sandhurst coach Tamara Gilchrist impressed with the Magpies' performance.
"We didn't play our best game yesterday, we just need to tighten up our defence all the way down the court," Gilchrist said.
"To Maryborough's credit they made us work a little harder than usual and did some good things out on the court.
"So a few things for us to work on at training."
Sandhurst now has a 4-0 record, and as it looks will be a top contender for another premiership come the pointy end of the season.
"It's a little bit of wait and see how the first few rounds of the season shape out, we like to see how all of the teams in the league shape up," Gilchrist said.
"Then we will take it one game at a time, you never know how it's going to go, but definitely happy with our start so far.
"We all play every Saturday with one common goal, to win.
"And I would like to think we're definitely in with a chance to take out the premiership again."
Kangaroo Flat went for a trip down the Calder to play Kyneton, where the Roos were able to defeat its hosts by nine goals.
The Roos defeated Kyneton 40-31, and now move to a 2-2 record after the first four rounds of the season.
Despite the loss - Kyneton didn't contend an A-grade team last season - and are in strong form with its round one win over Golden Square and narrow round two defeat from 2018 grand finalists Gisborne.
The Roos' season so far has been mixed with two narrow losses, to Sandhurst during round one and Gisborne in round three, paired with the round two victory over Golden Square.
In other games, Gisborne defeated Strathfieldsaye with a 10-goal win on its home turf 47-37.
South Bendigo defeated Golden Square 48-25.
