Uncertain Curtain Productions formed after a group of theatre performers enjoyed success with a one-act show at the Engine Room in Bendigo last year.

Writer and producer Sarah-Jane Fawcett created Max Pry: Private Eye with a majority of people involved in the show living with a neurodiverse disorder such as ADHD, autism-spectrum disorders, bipolar, sensory process disorder, depression, panic disorders or Aspergers.

"When we did Max Pry, it wasn't under a company, we just wanted to see how worked out," Ms Fawcett said. "It did, so we established the company. It is encouraging.

"With the success (last year) we knew there is an audience out there and a need for what we do in encouraging neurodiverse performers in theatre. So we decided 'let's do this, let's be an actual presence'."

For the company's debut production, Ms Fawcett has written a one-act play called Bubble Bubble. It tells the story of how the Frog Prince from the Brothers Grimm tales was originally turned into a frog.

It features a larger cast that the pilot production last year with 14 performers and 10 crew behind the scenes.

"We also opened it up to anyone," Ms Fawcett said. "We discussed that we don't want to be just for neurodiverse people, we're trying to end stigma.

"The best way to do that is to bring people who are 'neurotypical' in. It's a good way of teaching how we all work together, how neurodiverse people approach a problem and let neurotypical people see how they do it. It's about working together to end that stigma."

Ms Fawcett and the company also work to accommodate people's conditions by making the rehearsal space sensory friendly and ensuring the schedule is more spread out and not overwhelming.

Uncertain Curtain Productions' Bubble Bubble will be at The Engine Room from May 17-19. Tickets are $15 for adults.
