Both NBL1 Braves' men and women head into the round following strong victories over the Thunder and Tornadoes last week.
Braves' women currently sit on top of the ladder with an undefeated 6-0 record, but there was still plenty of room for improvement in regards to the team's defence.
"We were disappointed with ourselves in the first half of the game last week, definitely could've played better - we let them get too many wide-open shots at the basket," Braves' Tessa Lavey said.
"Defence has been our focus all week at training sessions."
Huskies' women have a solid 4-1 record so far this season, bolstered by several strong players with the likes of Sharna Thompson.
"It's going to take a team effort on Sharna - but we will focus on us," Lavey said.
"They are a strong team with big bodies and quick guards.
"But we will focus on what we need to do, do it well and hopefully it will be enough for the win."
Braves' men head into the game in eighth position on the ladder with a 3-3 record.
Despite the win last weekend, coach David Hogan said his goal before Friday night's game was to get the team playing "consistent" basketball.
"It has been training as per usual this week, with a focus on the team's defensive principles," Hogan said.
"Defence is where our lapses tend to start from.
"So the goal is to play four consistent quarters of defence and if we put it all together properly - we will be a strong unit."
Hogan planned to "mix things up" in regards to the team's starting five players, with a defensive unit to hit the court for tip off.
The team's latest addition, Mathiang Muo played with Hobart earlier in the 2019 NBL1 season, so the team will have plenty of inside info on the squad.
"Before last week's game Mathiang only had one and a half training sessions with our group," Hogan said.
"He's now had two more sessions this week which will make him an even stronger asset to the team."
Huskies will have Tad Dufelmeier on its roster for the clash- who is the brother of Braves women's Bianca Dufelmeier.
Women tip off at 6pm and men at 8pm, both games at the Bendigo Stadium.
