It's not often hundreds of people create a painting.
But that was the plan at the Emerge Cultural Hub at the Bendigo Easter Festival.
Artist Akhila Fernando guided the work, which was based around an outline he drew.
Mr Fernando's own artwork was inspired by his culture from Sri Lanka, and the batik work of his father.
One painting shows a farmer and his wife, set against the backdrop of the harvest.
He depicted the pairs hands as soft, to show that the couple were new to farming.
Lantern making and painting were among the other activities on offer at the hub.
The names of those who contributed to the painting will go in a ballot to win the final product.
