A Macedon Shire grader is on scene assisting crews. Victoria Police is also on scene.
The Helitack is no longer required at Edgecombe. A CFA spokeswoman said it has taken aerial photos of the scene and is returning to Ballarat.
UPDATE, 2.46pm: Vic Emergency have issued advice for people in the vicinity of Edgecombe and Kyneton.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads with the fire is travelling in a southerly direction.
The next update is expected at 4.30pm. The current warning reads:
"There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and monitor conditions.

EARLIER: Eight Country Fire Authority vehicles are working to control a grass and scrub fire at Edgecombe.
The fire in Bark Lane is almost five hectares in size and was reported at 1.42pm.
Crews from Kyneton, Malmsbury, Newham, Taradale, Carlsruhe, Lancefield, Langley Barfold, Tylden and Woodend responded to the call out.
A CFA spokeswoman confirmed that air support is en route with a Helitack travelling from Ballarat.
"Crews expect to control the fire in half an hour and no buildings are under threat," she said.
"Crews have also requested a grader from the Macedon Shire to create a barrier around the fire. That will arrive within the hour."
