The Border Raiders followed up a hard-working and impressive 7-1 season opening win over Shepparton with another victory on Sunday, to stamp themselves as the league's only 2-0 team.

Langenbacher's two goals came on top of a double last week against Shepparton and has him on top of the league's goal scorers table.

At McEwen Reserve, reigning champion Eaglehawk opened its win account for season 2019 with a hard-fought 2-1 win over last season's third-placed team Shepparton South.

Nathan Hamblin, who scored in the Hawks' round one draw against Shepparton United, put his team in front by slotting a penalty shot in the 31st minute.

The Hawks 1-0 half time lead became 2-0 when Chris Hopley found the back of the net in the 47th minute.

Sharpshooter Joel Aitken gave South hope with his second goal for the season in the 77th minute, but Eaglehawk was able to keep the home side at bay for the remainder of the contest to notch a crucial win.

Eaglehawk's win sets up an intriguing round three match-up with undefeated Moama-Echuca when the season resumes on April 28, in a match that will give the Border Raiders a truer guide of their strength this season.

At Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve, Colts United stung the Scorpions 2-1 to get its first win of the season.

Colts bounced back from a round one loss to Shepparton United, with Jordan Buckley leading the charge with two goals, both coming in the second half.

Golden City and Shepparton have their first points of the season courtesy of a 3-3 draw at Shadforth No.1.

The Rams twice held a lead after Ehsoo Seven put them ahead 1-0 in the 13th minute and Charlie Peacock did likewise in the 23rd minute following a 17th minute equaliser from Louis Ruddock.

But goals to Ramah Taya and skipper Frank Mariner delivered Shepparton a 3-2 lead, before a 79th minute strike from substitute Win Boe ensured the Rams their share of the points.

With their first points secured, Golden City and Colts United will get a chance to add to their tally when they clash in round three at Strathfieldsaye Recreation Reserve.

Shepparton United, Tatura and Strathdale all had byes in round two.

Tatura's round three game against Shepparton will be the Ibises' first this season after byes in the opening two weeks.

They will be out to build on last season's fifth-place finish, with a view to playing finals for the first time in their short life in the BASL competition.

In men's division two, Epsom and Colts United drew 2-2, Moama-Echuca defeated La Trobe University 4-0, Spring Gully United beat Shepparton United 1-0, Shepparton South defeated Eaglehawk 3-0, Golden City lost to Shepparton 0-7 and Strathdale beat Swan Hill 8-0.

In youth championship matches, Strathdale defeated Swan Hill 7-2, boosted by a hat-trick to the Blues' Reece Yarwood , Eaglehawk defeated Shepparton South 5-2, aided by three goals to Nicholas Tonzing, and Spring Gully United beat Shepparton United 4-1.
