Strathfieldsaye faces an anxious wait this week on results of scans on the injured knee of star midfielder Jake Moorhead.
The inter-league representative injured his knee in the first half of the Storm's impressive win over Eaglehawk and the initial fear was that he had torn his ACL.
"We've got our fingers crossed for Jake that it's not serious and we'll wait and see on the scans,'' Storm coach Troy Coates said.
Eaglehawk has its own injury problems.
Young defender Lachlan Atherton suffered a shoulder injury and faces multiple weeks on the sidelines.
Classy utility Benton Conforti undergoes knee surgery this week to "clean up" bone bruising and he might not return to the field until mid-season.
Sandhurst premiership skipper Blair Holmes suffered a calf injury in the warm-up of Saturday night's win over Kangaroo Flat.
The veteran midfielder is likely to miss the Good Friday game with the Storm.
Travis Baird added another chapter to his injury-ravaged career against Kyneton on Saturday night.
The premiership forward strained his hamstring in the first 10 minutes and will miss a month of footy.
Bulldogs' recruit Alex Marklew injured his ankle in his first game with the club and is no certainty to play against Kangaroo Flat on Easter Saturday.
Kyneton's high-profile recruit Shaun Huy strained his hamstring against the Bulldogs.
Hamstring injuries were the theme of the day.
Star Colbinabbin duo Daniel Connors and Patty O'Brien strained their hamstrings within minutes of each other in the Grasshoppers' round one win over Elmore.
Connors, the former Richmond and Sandhurst forward, had taken five marks and had three shots at goal in the first eight minutes of the game before suffering his injury.
He had the same complaint while playing for the Dragons in the BFNL last year.
Connors and O'Brien are crucial omissions as the Hoppers prepare for their Good Friday blockbuster with the Lockington-Bamawm United Cats.
The Cats thrashed Heathcote on Saturday, with Saints key recruit Codie Price taken to hospital by ambulance after being concussed.
