The upgrades works in White Hills will see crews line marking and planting trees between Scott Street and Orville Way.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for their journey.
Speed limits will be set at 40km/h and traffic monitors will be on hand to guide traffic through the worksite.
The works are dependent on weather and temperature meaning dates and times could change.
The two-year upgrade of Napier Street began in July, 2017. The $30.4 million upgrade will see an additional traffic lane in each direction along the 2.7km stretch of Napier Street between Weeroona Avenue and Hall Street.
Dedicated 2.3-metre wide bike lanes will also be introduced as will a raised central median, boulevard of street trees, new traffic lights at Scott Street and a new pedestrian traffic light crossing near Grace Street.
Information about the project and detours can also be found on the Regional Roads Victoria website by searching Napier Street Upgrade.
