Nadine Drummond. Practice Manager and Senior Dental Assistant at Bendigo Family Dental Care.
How long have you been doing that for?
Six years.
What are you doing today?
At work, we are currently doing a complete smile make over for a beautiful lady who refuses to smile. It is her daughter's wedding on Saturday and she is so worried about smiling.
We saw her yesterday for a consultation and just had to fit her in today, so that she could have an amazing smile.
We want her to smile and laugh at her daughter's wedding and be able to enjoy the beautiful moments with her family.
Why did you decide to become a Dental Assistant?
I was looking for a new challenge in life and needed a job where I could still earn an income whilst learning a new skill and doing a traineeship.
A friend of mine who is a dental nurse thought I'd be great at it. I am so glad I tried something new as I absolutely love it!
What do you enjoy about your job?
No day is ever the same. I love all aspects of what I do. The fact that I can help calm people through dental procedures that they may be anxious about, is very rewarding.
I particularly love seeing a patients self esteem improve after visiting us. It is very rewarding! I also have a great team at work and a very positive environment which makes work fun.
What's your passion? What do you really care about?
I really care about my husband and my children and being happy with all aspects of my life. I am very lucky to be in a job that I love and am passionate about.
What's your Bendigo story?
I moved here 20 years ago from Melbourne after working in the television and advertising industry as a professional photographer.
I have raised my two beautiful girls here and love the opportunities and lifestyle Bendigo brings.
What do you do on your Saturday morning?
Usually a sleep-in, followed by a croissant and coffee (my mornings are never complete without one!) that my hubby brings me from a local cafe. I know, I am spoilt!
What's your guilty pleasure TV show of choice?
Love the IT Crowd, anything that makes me laugh. Netflix is usually my go to. I love a good crime series too.
