Bendigo Chinese Association president and Golden Dragon Museum chair Doug Lougoon said a further 130 - 140 volunteers were needed.
Staging the Chinese contingent of both the O'Brien Electrical Bendigo torchlight procession on Easter Saturday and the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade on Easter Sunday will take a total of 270 - 280 volunteers this year.
With all Bendigo's processional dragons involved in this year's gala parade for the first time in the city's history, there is a greater need for volunteers.
Mr Lougoon said there were opportunities for people between the ages of 16 - 25 to help bring some of the smaller dragons to life.
Banner carriers were also sought after, he said.
Volunteers were needed to showcase items big and small, from decorative flower baskets through to big lanterns.
"There are plenty of things for people to do," Mr Lougoon said.
He said volunteers had the opportunity to see and experience the festivities from inside out.
There were roles suitable for volunteers aged eight years and older.
"We could really do with a good swag of people from eight years through to teens, youths, and up to some stronger people as well to carry the bigger banners," Mr Lougoon said.
He said some of the volunteers involved in walking Dai Gum Loong the five kilometres from the RMIT hangar at the Bendigo Airport, where the dragon was constructed, to the Golden Dragon Museum today had offered to help.
Mr Lougoon said prospective volunteers were welcome to drop into the Bendigo Chinese Association's rooms at the corner of Bridge Street and Cemetery Lane, next to the Golden Dragon Museum, from 4pm - 6pm on weekdays or 1pm - 5pm on weekends.
