BENDIGO triggered a stunning batting collapse upon Golden Square to capture the Bendigo District Cricket Association second XI premiership on Saturday.
Chasing Bendigo's 174 set last Sunday, the flag looked to be Golden Square's for the taking when it was 4-152 at Harry Trott Oval.
However, in a remarkable finish to the game, the Goers took 6-3 to bowl Golden Square out for 155 and win by 19 runs in a game that was forced into the reserve day after play was abandoned last Saturday due to an unplayable wicket.
Bendigo's Matt Gray (5-38) and man-of-the-match Bailey Goodwin (4-46) split the last six wickets three apiece, with the dramatic Square capitulation featuring the dismissals of captain John Lalor (19), Mat Christie (5), Max Grant (0), Jamie Bysouth (0), Mitch Kemp (0) and Dylan Robinson (0).
Christie, Grant and Bysouth were all dismissed within the same over by Goodwin, while the final wicket was Kieren Burns catching Robinson at point off the bowling of Gray.

Bendigo won the game despite the day two absence of this season's second XI Cricketer of the Year, Pavan Bade, who returned to India earlier in the week.
While he was absent on day two, Bade influenced the grand final on day one with a gritty knock of 62 off 94 after beginning his innings with the Goers at a shaky 5-68.
The grand final victory was a dream finish to the lengthy career of Bendigo captain Brett Andrews, who was chaired from the ground.
"I thought at tea (when Square was 3-126) if we could get a couple of quick wickets we might be able to give them a bit of a scare, but I probably didn't think we'd get to where it ended up... the boys did a great job," said Andrews, who took 1-28 to go with his 19 last week.
"Bailey and Matt both did a ripping job with the ball late in the game."
The win was the Goers' first second XI flag since 2005.
Opener Tom Campbell and Josh Baird both made 40 for Golden Square and put on 65 for the second wicket.
The defeat for the second XI - which had only lost one game for the season previously - came on the back of Golden Square last week also losing the first XI and third XI grand finals.
