Fresh from her first success on a metropolitan track at Darwin the previous weekend, Philpot was back in the winners' stall at Bairnsdale on Sunday.
The 24-year-old made the roughly 900 kilometre round-trip from Bendigo for two rides, finishing with a second aboard Kaphit in the $22,000 Lakes Entrance Cup and a win for in-form Mornington trainer Jerome Hunter on Miss Street.
Hunter, who boasts a winning strike rate of 30 per cent from his last 50 starters, was full of praise for the three-kilogram-claiming apprentice, in particular her thorough preparation.
"She was keen and when I saw her (on Sunday) I asked if she knew about the horse, and she had done all her homework and actually rang the previous jockey who had won on her (Mikaela Claridge). That was a good sign .... very professional," he said.
"She rode the horse extremely well .... I'd definitely have her back on her again.
"She rode to instructions, which is all you can ask, and she got the job done."

Miss Street, a four-year-old, has won each of his last three races and has four wins and six placings from 11 career starts.
The ultra-consistent mare has never finished beyond fifth, which he did on debut at Pakenham in October 2017.
Hunter said a long-term aim for the horse would be to target a Friday night 955m race at Moonee Valley next Saturday.
"You never know, with a few more wins under her belt, Jess might be able to jump on her in town and use her claim there," he said.
The win was Philpot's eighth in 2019. They have been achieved in three states or territories - Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
She is currently apprenticed to Bendigo trainer Mick Sell.
