Shirley Sayle said the lifts would "mean wonders" when she travelled to Melbourne.
It could be a long walk up the recently installed ramps, though she said it was not so bad with her mobility walker.
"I haven't often travelled lately, but I will be going again soon. When my husband was alive we used to travel on the trains. Not only to Melbourne but to Adelaide and Alice Springs," she said.
"So the trains mean a lot to me. They have lovely memories."
The pedestrian overpass was installed late last year, as were the ramps, but the stairs and lifts were only just completed.
Before the bridge was installed, people with disabilities and other mobility requirements had to be escorted by V/Line staff between platforms.
More Bendigo Station works were expected to begin later in the year, including improvements at the waiting and customer service areas as well as toilets, VicTracks spokesman James O'Brien said.
"We are seeking to put a changing places facility in one of the toilets in the wait room to provide people with disabilities the ability to get changed with the use a hoist," he said.
