The man pleaded guilty in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court to the offending, which took place in Maiden Gully in July last year.
A police officer saw the man driving at an estimated 100 km/h to 110 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Edwards Road.
More court news:
The radar clocked the man's speed at an alleged 103 km/h.
The man was intercepted and when asked why he was speeding, he replied, "No one to blame but myself".
He told the court he knew there was a 60 km/h sign at that location, but misjudged where he was.
Magistrate Sarah Leighfield suspended the man's licence for the mandatory six-months and fined him $800 without conviction, noting his guilty plea and his limited prior history.
