A TALLY of 29 season bests and two Centre records were broken at the Flack Advisory Bendigo Region's track and field meet in Flora Hill on Saturday.

Highs of the afternoon's action at the Latrobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Retreat Road included the Centre records for the 60-plus class in 80m hurdles and javelin by South Bendigo star Joan Self.
A superb run by Self continued as she ran the 80m hurdles in 18.79 seconds and she later hurled the javelin to a mark of 20.49m.
Eaglehawk's Kye Mason continued his build-up to next month's Australian Championships in Sydney by running two 100m heats on Saturday.
Mason won the first heat in 11.23 seconds and later faced Bendigo Harriers' trio Ryan Shaw, David Morrissey and Seth Hoskin as he won the fourth in a faster time of 11.20.
Heats two and three were won by South Bendigo's James Woods and Bendigo Harriers' Eric Baker in season best times of 11.79 and 14.42.
Eaglehawk's Laura Kadri won the first of the women's 100m heats in 13.28 and took out her 400m heat in a season best of 1:01.47.
The Hawks' success included a great time of 52.52 by James Bentley, also bound for Sydney, in the 400m dash.
Less than a week after winning the Hilson Builders-backed Sally Conroy Memorial 200m at the Bendigo International Madison, Daniel Baldwin from Bendigo Harriers was second in Saturday's 400m in a season best of 53.13.
Heat winners in the women's 100m were Eaglehawk's Niah Langtree, University's Andrea Smith and Jazlin Fear.
A highlight of the meet was to be the 4 x 1500m relay championship.
Because there were no single-club entries, the championship was not awarded.
Winners were the composite team of South Bendigo's Debby Kirne and Jennifer Payne, Eaglehawk's Barb Bryant, and Bendigo Harriers' Anne Buckley in 27:11.86.
Peter Cowell from Harriers won the 3000m in 11:13 as South Bendigo's Anna de Vrieze showed her dramatic improvement to be runner-up in 12:29.
In the 1500m walk, Barb Bryant powered to victory in 8:43 ahead of University's Andrea Smith, 8:48, and Preston's Donna-Marie Elms, 8:51.
At the javelin, Cooper Saunders reigned supreme on 38.65m at clubmate Bailey Cooper was runner-up on 38.12. The first flight was won by Harriers' Claire McCay in a season best of 23.36.
Best at shot put were the Cooper siblings, Bailey and Mackenzie at 10.19 and 10.02m. At high jump, James Woods and James Miller soared above 1.80m.
A great afternoon for Woods included a season best leap of 6.11m at long jump, as clubmate Abbey Hromenko, 4.88m, and Harriers' Abbey Conquer, 4.55m,went further than they had all season.
