The Yorta Yorta and Wemba Wemba woman said she nearly cried when she received the news.
"It's made me feel so proud, it really has," Aunty Lyn said.
"I was shocked at first. Everything I do, I do it because I love it."
She is involved in a number of community groups and organisations, including Women's Health Loddon Mallee, the Bendigo and District Aboriginal Cooperative, the Centre for Non-Violence, the Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committee and the Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee.
Aunty Lyn is also involved in mentoring at the Loddon, Middleton and Tarrengower prisons, to name just a few of her commitments.
"I just love being around people," she said.
She will travel to Melbourne with WHLM's Makenna Bryon, who nominated her, to be inducted into the honour roll.
Aunty Lyn will celebrate the occasion with her son, his partner and the couple's month-old baby.
