The new deal will see the 21-year-old line up for a fourth season with the Braves senior men’s team.
Rayner is coming off a stellar CBL season with the Braves in which he was named as a member of the All-Star 5 for the North West Conference.
The 2018 SEABL season saw Tanner play almost 80 minutes across 16 games and take his career games tally to 37.
Rayner has really established himself as a formidable sixth man for the Braves through hard work, determination and a desire to win.
Head Coach David Hogan described Rayner as an ‘impressive’ player and individual.
“On and off the floor he has a deep passion for the Braves and a desire to be the best he can be while supporting the team in any way possible,” he said.
“The work Tanner puts in off the floor with clinics, coaching and playing a pivotal role within the Bendigo community is even more impressive, when you consider he is only 21 years of age.”
When quizzed on the prospect of additional court time, Rayner was quite modest.
“I will just play my role and do whatever DJ (Hogan) needs me to do,” he said.
“If that means more court time, great.
“I can’t wait to get there and give my all whether it’s four or 40 minutes.”
The Braves men are building a solid group of youngsters, with the signings of Rayner, Dyson Daniels and Jake Lloyd already secured.
