Directed by Andrew Garten, it follows the healing power and journey of the Black Saturday Tree Project.
The Tree Project was created by the Australian Blacksmiths Association (Victoria) who invited blacksmiths from all over Australia and the world to contribute to the creation of a steel gumtree.
It was erected in Strathewen on February, 2014, five years after Black Saturday and remembers people who were lost to the fires and the CFA men and women who worked to help protect towns and forests.
The Bendigo region was directly impacted by the fires on Saturday, February 7, 2009.
One that started in Bracewell Street, Maiden Gully resulted in one death as well as loss of 57 homes and 115 outbuildings and damage to many others.
Fire crews also battled a fire in Redesdale with 12 houses destroyed and 3000 stock lost.
Forged From Fire will screen at the Phee Broadway Theatre from 6pm on Thursday, February 28.
The event is free but bookings are essential. Visit https://book.bookeasy.com/mount-alexander-box-office/events/95792 to book.
