The nine team members, comprising of students from years 10 to 12, will be the only Australian team to take part in the international event for the world's most energy efficient vehicles.
Girton Grammar Headmaster Matthew Maruff said energy efficient vehicle racing has become a hugely popular co-curricular at the school.
"An incredible amount of work from students, staff, and parents goes into getting a vehicle like this on the track," he said. "The vehicle that this year's team will ship to Malaysia is incredibly futuristic."
"And for the first time at this event, the driver and the reserve driver for the Eco-Marathon team are female," he said.
It is the fourth time a team from Girton Grammar has been selected to compete internationally.
The Shell Eco-Marathon Asia will take place in Malaysia from April 29th to May 2nd.
