Axedale Quick Shear and Family Fun Day
Axedale Hall and Park, Saturday, February 23 from 2pm
The Axedale Quick Shear and Family Fun Day is on again. Watch the quick shear competition, bid on the silent auction or try your luck on the spinning wheel. Children's entertainment includes a jumping castle, face painting, a petting zoo and giant games. Other highlights include the Flipping Disc Dogz, market stalls, and a mechanical bull.

Kangaroo Flat Market
Kangaroo Flat Uniting Church, opposite Aldi on High Street, Kangaroo Flat, Saturday, February 23 from 8am - 1pm
As summer fades, the Kangaroo Flat quarterly community market returns to mark the season's end. Featuring live music from country musician Kim Ritchie from 9am - 12pm, more than 20 stalls, and a garage sale. Devonshire tea and a sausage sizzle will also be available for purchase.
Bendigo Doll and Teddy Show
Bendigo Exhibition Centre, Prince of Wales Showgrounds, North Bendigo, Saturday, February 23 from 09.30am to 4pm
The Bendigo Doll and Teddy Show features judged competitions, trading stalls, exhibition, displays and raffles. Traders will have on offer porcelain dolls and parts, miniature dollhouse items, reborns, teddies and bears, quilts, beads and other craft. The theme for this show is "Santa's Workshop" and this includes any toys or items you would imagine Santa producing in his workshop or scenes of Santa's workshop. All proceeds raised go to the Bendigo Palliative Care Auxiliary.
Afternoon dance
Spring Gully Hall, Sunday, February 24, from 1.30pm to 5pm
The Spring Gully Hall Committee invites people to come along to the afternoon dance and enjoy great music by McNees Dance Band, a good program and delicious home cooked afternoon tea. There will be a raffle and prizes available. Admission is $10 and everyone is welcome. Interested people can call Keith on 5444 2953 for more information.
Open waters swim
Crusoe Road Reservoir, Sunday, February 24
Paul Sadler Swimland Bendigo will host the open water swim for young swimmers who have achieved their Swordy one-kilometre medal. Open water swims allow children to convert their swimming skills learnt in a pool and give them the experience in open water, which helps them be more confident in a range of conditions. Paul Sadler Swimland first started the swims in 2013 and run them yearly. Since then, more than 1200 children have participated and achieved their open water swim certificate.
Day of Prayer
Various locations, Friday, March 1
Christians around the world will gather to focus on issues of family violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and other forms of injustice on the World Day of Prayer. In the Bendigo area, men and women will gather at 10am at St Andrew’s Uniting Church in Bendigo, and St Therese’s in Kennington; and at 11am at St Liborius in Eaglehawk. St Mary’s in Kangaroo Flat and St Luke’s in White Hills will host gatherings at 7pm. There will be a speaker and other activities along with refreshments at each. All welcome. Scots Day Out
Rosalind Park, Saturday, March 2
The tartans and the pipes will descend on Bendigo the Scots Day Out. A record number of Scottish clan and diaspora organisations have already registered for the free family day of music, dance and games. Clans will carry their banners in the parade down View Street at 10am. The Central Victorian Highland Dancing Classic dancers will also be part of the parade into Rosalind Park.
Harcourt Applefest
High Street, Harcourt, Saturday, March 9
The apple festival is on once again. The event will feature the fruit in all its forms - from fresh fruit, to cake and muffins. There will be children's activities and festivities will run from one end of the main street to the other. The town's pool will also get involved, hosting its annual pool party.
International Women's Day breakfast
47 Myers Street, Bendigo, March 8, from 8am to 10am
Women's Health Loddon Mallee will host its annual International Women’s Day Breakfast and welcomes the whole community to join the celebration and show their support for women’s achievements and the successes towards gender equality. This year's International Women’s Day theme is More Powerful Together, which recognises the important role women, men and gender diverse people play to advance gender equality.
